This is a project I was planning for currently for XMOD but there might be some scalability issues with the current version. It was recommended that I post in this forum as a source of wisdom and possibly a solution.

The project is a simple one, cataloging a collection of books, potentially 100k+ initially with more to follow. The total number of fields in the database would be 10 containing the basics; title, publisher, condition, etc.

What I'm interested in would be the ability to support this many records and provide adequate performance while having multiple people access the records at any given time conducting searches. Understandably, hardware and bandwidth are contributing factors in all of this but with these issues being up to the task is this a feasible project for XMOD and XURLP?

This is my first intro to XURLP, so I really have no idea of its function and how it relates to XMOD.

Thanks for the help in advance.

If you are looking for tables with named columns to hold your records, the current form of XURLP will not be your answer, although it could be modified to support a custom instance like this. (It is available with full code)

XMod Remote Data is rumored to have the functionality to connect and update remote tables although I'm not sure if those features are fully released yet.

XMod is also looking at supporting these types of scenarios in future versions. I know this is not what you wanted to hear, but the map may be alot clearer in a few months, with more solutions available.
