XMod RSS Reader In Action Minimize

XMod RSS Reader understands the multiple formats that an RSS feed may arrive in and presents you with a consistent set of XMod fields you can position and format just as you would your other XMod solutions. XMod RSS Reader also has nice extra features such as OPML file import, storage of feed information in the database for easy retrieval later, caching of feeds for better performance and compliance with usage rules of feed providers, and more.

Below we've provided a few examples of XMod RSS Reader in action. The first example shows a “minimalist” headline-only display of the Slashdot feed. The second leverages the XMod “toggle” tag to allow the user a client-side way to hide/show the details of a particular story. The third shows a more complete, standard display of the Slashdot feed. The fourth shows that XMod RSS Reader can display HTML content embedded in feeds.

XMod RSS Reader is an add-on for XMod and, thus, requires XMod in order to function. XMod RSS Reader runs on DNN 2.1.2 and DNN 3.x and DNN 4.x. Purchase XMod RSS Reader now and save 25%. Purchase it with XMod and save even more.

XMod RSS Reader: Basic Layout, Record Limit, etc. (Slashdot) Minimize
This template is showing a basic layout for the Slashdot feed. It's using the FeedTitle field and the <xmod:dateadded> field to format the feed's publication date. Additionally, the template is trimming the length of the description. You'll notice the "..." for posts with longer descriptions.

This template is also restricting the number of items listed to 3 and beginning the list with item number 4 (note: each of these modules are cached at different intervals, so number 4 in this list may be a different number in the previous examples).
