Get One-on-One Sessions from the Guy who Built it

Nowhere else can you get this kind of access and training. We're not talking about a class with 30 or 100+ people. You and Kelly will talk live and work through your session together. There is no better or more direct way to get the most out of XMod Pro.

What Can You Learn?

• Foundations (1 hour): Need some training on HTML, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) or SQL commands? This is the session for you. It's a great way to get a firm footing in web technologies before building your first application in XMod Pro. This class is not specific to XMod Pro and, thus, is open to anyone who would like to participate.
   
• Jump Start (level 100 - 1 hour): Get up to speed with XMod Pro quickly. Great if you're on a deadline too. What you'll learn:
  
  
  • Kelly will take you on a tour of the module, showing you its various tools and explaining how it all works.
  • Create a database table
  • Generate a form from that table, as well as add some style
  • Add basic searching and sorting as well as& paging.
  • Send email notifications when someone adds or updates data.
  • Create a basic Contact Us/Feedback form.
   
• Beyond the Basics (level 200) (2 hours): In this session you'll go beyond the basics and learn how to take advantage of the more advanced features in XMod Pro. Among some oof the things you'll learn:
   
  
  • Use Javascript in your forms and templates to add more interactivity.
    
  • Bring in your own CSS for custom styling of your forms and data displays.
    
  • Add multiple displays to a single module instance and make them communicate with one another.
    
  • Localize your text, data, and even layout.
    
  • Create lookup controls (like a drop-down list of coutries or states on a form)
  • Use passed-in data from the URL or another form to customize your displays
  • Use the Slideshow and DataList alternative view controls
   
• Advanced Topics - Building Custom Form Controls and Template Tags (level 300) (2 hours): While XMod Pro comes with a broad set of controls out-of-the-box, sometimes you need a specific set of functionality to finish your project. In this session you'll learn how to leverage your ASP.NET programming skills to create customized form controls for fun and profit.  This advanced-level session assumes you have a good understanding of ASP.NET programming but does not require you know how to build custom server controls.
   
• Advanced Topics - Building Custom Data Views (level 300) (4 hours): Beginning in version 2.5, XMod Pro makes it possible to build custom views of your data via View Controls. These views can run side-by-side with the standard data view control. The standard view control enables has enormous flexibility enabling users to build displays with custom HTML, CSS, and Javascript. However, many times you want a specific view for a specific project. You may also want build a view control to provide a simpler interface for something that *could* be built with the standard view, but without having to hand-code the HTML/CSS/Javascript. Version 2.5 introduced two new view controls - the Slideshow and DataList - as examples of the types of controls you may build, but the sky is the limit.  Learn how to build your own view controls in this session. NOTE: This is a very detailed session and requires knowledge of ASP.NET programming.
   
• Custom/Mentoring Sessions (1 hour minimum): If you need help or advice on something not covered in the above tracks, let us know. We can help you get a jump-start on your specific project or train you in specific areas of XMod Pro where you may need some additional guidance.  The sessions are defined by you.

How Does It Work?

Sessions are conducted one-on-one using Skype. The free Skype service allows you and Kelly to talk and share each other's screen. It's almost like sitting next to each other at a desk in the same room. It's a very personal, customized sessions.  Skype is the preferred method of conducting sessions. However, if you prefer another method, let us know and we'll try to accommodate you.

Scheduling. In general, we try to accommodate your schedule and prefer conducting sessions within the standard 9am to 5pm window in the United States. Of course, with a world-wide customer base, time differences can be problematic. We will work with you to come up with a time that fits, whether it's early in the morning or late at night.

Pricing

Most sessions have a flat-rate, as described below. Custom or mentoring sessions are charged at an hourly rate. Additional time for any session may also be booked. All fees must be paid prior to the beginning of the session. Pricing details are listed below.

• Foundations: $75
• Jump Start: $75
• Beyond the Basics: $150
• Building Custom Controls and Template Tags: $225
• Building Custom View Controls: $300.
• Custom/Mentoring Sessions: Billed at $75/hr with a 1 hour minimum.
