Hi xmodders
I know this issue is not exactly directly related to xmod pro, but rather security settings on my server, but it affects xmod pro as well as a bunch of other stuff.
I'm working to transfer sites from one install directory to another on my server, recreating the portals from scratch to clean up all the different issues that have accumulated over the last 5 years.
This means, I'm using a clean install of DNN Platform as my new base.
One of my issues is related to server permissions. With the xmod pro module, this is related to the popup edit mode not working.
I've installed a trial version of xmod pro 4.2 to transfer settings until I can make the switch from old site to new site and transfer the license activation.
When adding xmod to a page and setting it up to use a template & form, it will usually show a little grey bar with the chosen template and form at the top of the module, but only to super users.
Normally, clicking the links to the form or template, will open up the source code in a popup, making it possible to make changes very quickly.
However, on my new install, the popup is blank.
I'm pretty sure this has something to do with ajax and security settings on my server, but I don't want to accidentially create a security hole by allowing too much access. As it is right now, "network service" has full access to the root folder and that should allow anything inside the DNN application to have access to everything needed here. But something is missing since not all modules are working correctly (like the xmod module)
I'd really like to know if some of you guys know about this issue, and how to set up permissions correctly to have the popup work correctly. Is this about the DNN Settings?
Any advice would be helpful. If you need access to a test domain to see the problem, let me know in a personal message. I'm not granting super user access to anything but a test :)
Kind Regards
Rune
